All I see, when I read this, is that she is paying them off to stay home. Or rather, she is paying off the politicians to step up and do their jobs!

As a good example of tangible results by Meloni, today it arose that her government has blocked nearly 200,000 migrants from crossing the Mediterranean to Italy since coming to power two years ago.

Sure enough, it’s not perfection, since in 2024, 66,000 migrants still reached Italy by sea. But that compares positively with 157,000 in 2023 and 105,000 in 2022.

Part of the success comes from giving hundreds of millions of euros in aid, trade and investment to Tunisia and Libya.

Both countries have – as per the agreement – endeavored to stop migrant boats from leaving their shores.

The strategy – criticized by the inevitable Globalist NGOs – seems to have drastically reduced the number of illegal migrants who reach Italy.
