💦 Note that WATER is number one as I was just told by the main volunteer that the water may be shut down in Cocke County…

It's bad. I am in NC, and people we know are posting videos from the mountains. Chimney Rock, NC is gone. Roads gone, bridge gone, buildings gone. Asheville, NC is in bad shape, and they are trying to keep a dam from breaching and devastating the town. The waters they are releasing is flooding everything downstream. Rain close to 32 inches in places, and people are in dire straights. Power out, cell phones out in a lot of western NC. I am sure they are only trying to rescue people at this time, and those who are beyond help will be accounted for later. Lots of prayers needed for all!!!!!

For those far outside of the area who can't do physical donations, here are some highly trustworthy places. Samaritan's Purse is planning an airdrop of supplies to the Asheville area since there's NO road access either in or out. Fiscally superlative, but headquarters are in Boone NC that as of a few hours ago still was underwater. (There are other locations so the Boone situation may not be problematic at all.) Another great one is Operation Blessing, an offshoot of CBN (Christian Broadcasting Network). Charity Navigator rates OB effectiveness at *100%* because CBN absorbs every nickel of OB's administrative costs. That means that every nickel donated to OB goes for direct support of needs & you can specify where your donation goes. DON'T fall for the Red Cross crap that's sure to arise in coming days!!!!! Of every dollar donated there, about 92 cents go to pad pockets with only about 8 cents supporting true needs.

No we're used to preparing but no we did'nt expect 30, 40 feet bridges to collapse and close off access or sweep houses away with people in them or 2 mile wide water to sweep thru and take everything in its path...we dont live on the coast where hurricanes hit...so No we wasn't prepared for that😪
