Happy September! This is my favorite time of year. It has such a creative, transformational energy to it. I have experienced so many wonderful things in September over the years. I think that the seasons in nature have a great deal to teach us about how to align with our human ability to create and transform our lives.

As I'm sure everyone knows, we are headed into a very tumultuous election season here in the US. I would never in my wildest dreams have imagined anything as bizarre as what is happening in this country. It's just surreal 😳.

Every day feels like we are all perched on the edge of a cliff, waiting to see if everything is going to fall apart or go crazy. Which is why we each need to establish a deep, non-negotiable, meditation practice. If we can't find certainty in the outside world, then we certainly need to find it within ourselves.

So here's a suggestion for you: Make a decision that you will more closely monitor your energy. Check in with your vibration. Realize that our energy can be easily influenced by whatever we come into resonance with.

Would you like to know what has the strongest influence on your energy? It's your own thoughts. Whenever you think a thought or muse on some particular topic, it has a corresponding emotional effect. These thoughts and their corresponding emotions carry specific frequencies and vibrations, which act as markers for the rest of your body. They instantly instruct your entire body what to come into resonance with.

Here's the important thing to understand: I explained this as though it's a 3-part process. But it's not really linear. It happens all at once. The nature of our being is holistic. We are not really the sum of the parts.

Now if your thoughts are negative, your body will immediately come into resonance with that negativity. So you might be thinking angry thoughts about someone else, but your entire body is going to suffer from that energy. So that's something to consider.

I don't like the term 'positive thoughts' very much because it's merely the opposite of negative thoughts. And we can certainly force ourselves to think positively in an artificial way, which doesn't last. Here's what I would suggest instead: Think inspiring thoughts. Think creatively. Think peacefully. Think lovingly. This way of looking at thought is much more aligned with our natural state of being as human creators.

You are the being who is in charge of your thoughts. No one else is in charge because no one else has access to your mind. If you adopt thoughts from other people, it's still you who chose to do that. This is why it can be said that we are each in charge of our own reality.

As you take all of this in, realize that you have way more power over your experience than you might have known. Understanding this simple truth is the key to creating a better life for yourself.

Imagine your thoughts as being like a river. Contemplate how you want this river to flow. Do you want it to flow through pain and misery? Do you want it to flow through garbage scenery, suffering, and terrible neighborhoods? Or would you prefer that this river of thought flow through beautiful settings of nature, peace, inspiration, and harmony?

You have an amazing opportunity to be the captain of your own ship! We are complex beings in the most wonderful of ways. It's time to open the treasure chest of our enormous, creative capabilities. Let's explore that!

When you realize what a gift you are to yourself, it will transform your life completely.
