I raise dairy goats. I have raised them for going on 12-13 years now. Ivermectin has not caused any issues with fertility nor have I had it cause any goats to miscarry. There are a few deworming agents that can and do, notably Valbazen (which is Albendazole.) Many issues can cause miscarriage and there are extensive articles dedicated to discovering why. Lab testing can also verify the cause.

Ivermectin has been fine in our beloved herd, in all stages of pregnancy and or conception.

The only drawback I have noted with Ivermectin, is that the parasites CAN become resistant. Perhaps our human use researchers can keep that in mind when learning about what the drug can do, as that is a famous drawback in dairy goat herds.

What goat breeders have done to compensate for parasite resistance, is to specifically treat only those who truly need it. This is done by what is called a FAMCHA test. (Looking at eyelids to see if they are pale pink or a bright, healthy and darker vibrant color.) That way you aren't creating more and more resistant parasites.

They are also using two dewormers together, a white one like Panacure (Fenbendazole) and a clear dewormer like Ivermectin or Cydectin together. Not mixed together, but give one white dewormer then the other clear colored dewormer. The parasites not resistant to the Panacure get killed and the ones not resistant to the Cydectin or Ivermectin get killed thereby lessening the chances of a resistant one making it though the season. I also switch them up, so I am not mindlessly using the same one by rote.

I also use herbal dewormers, which are wonderful but cannot always save a goat overcome with parasites. They also have their own side effects. We use copper when needed, that reduces parasite load as well. Human have for many years believed we are safe from parasites...but not always!
