Recently I learned some new information about meditating on OM and now realize that I have done myself a disservice by using the OM meditation without more discernment.

I learned from an experienced teacher of deep meditation that OM is practiced by monks who are withdrawing from the world. But when used by a householder who is fully engaged with world, it sets up a vibration that is counter-productive and can be quite debilitating as I have observed when remembering what my life was like during the period that I engaged in the practice we without realizing the harm I was doing to myself.

Looking back, those periods of my life were the most challenging financially and it began a track of diminishing my financial stability every single time that I recall.

So I do not agree with recommendations put forth by this writer, in fact I caution anyone considering this practice to research the difference between monk meditations and householder meditations before engaging in this new practice for themselves.

For those looking to engage in a mantra meditation that assists the Householder to better Thrive in the world, I recommend Ojaya-the Martial Art of Deep Meditation.
