Water didn’t ask to be created, frozen or steamed. Sunshine didn’t ask, “What’s with all this shining?” Air is full of hot air and doesn’t know anything. Soil doesn’t know why it’s just laying around and gets blown around. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?

WHO, WHAT, OR HOW DID “I” HAPPEN? I DIDN’T DO IT. I’M JUST A MIND IN A BODY THAT HAS EMOTIONS, AND I DIDN’T DO ME. One minute I AIN’T, and the next minute I ARE. WHAT THE HELL?

OK, fine, some intelligence got bored and created everything for its joy and pleasure, and I am one of its toys. I can deal with that. At least whoever did it gave me a self-aware mind so I can watch what I am thinking and decide what thoughts to play with. That’s cool. I know how to enjoy my time as a toy. You might even say I am a happy toy, ESPECIALLY knowing I am a temporary toy. God how awful it would be to ALWAYS be a toy. The Zen toy dudes and dudnessess are probably right. All they want to do is die and not come back, and then be disorganized and never see the light of day again.

There are big discussions and sometimes arguments among philosopher and theologians that within or around a human is consciousness and that consciousness is REALLY who they are and they’re just temporary toys for consciousness. REALLY? Why add a layer of belief and confusion to the absurd?

I am keeping it simple. I, the “I” that is writing this, is a mind in a human body. This mind is self-aware. That means I know I am writing this. It means I know what I am thinking. I am aware that I am a mind. No one else needs to be in here, no awareness, no consciousness, no observer, “Thank you very much.” I can observe myself, and I do. If there’s a hitchhiker in, on, or around me, I hope he enjoys the ride.
