Using a football analogy, let's assume that it's halftime and the opposition (the BLUE TEAM) has raced out to a commanding 38-7 lead. On the field, the BLUE TEAM seems to be unstoppable, making first downs with ease and scoring touchdowns at will. Their players are bigger and faster due to their state-of-the-art training equipment and unlimited financial support that they receive from their backers.

Despite overwhelming odds at winning the game, the beleaguered players receive a rousing motivational speech from their coach. They return from the locker room charged up and ready to do battle with the BLUE TEAM.

The RED TEAM players change the tenor of the contest by scoring four quick touchdowns in the second half to close the gap to 38-35. With only a few minutes remaining in the 4th quarter, a RED TEAM lineman sacks the BLUE TEAM's quarterback, forcing a fumble that one of his teammates recovers.

The crowd rises in disbelief, as the RED TEAM's offense lines up on the field to take one last shot with the clock ticking down. After calling the final play in the huddle, the quarterback drops back behind the line of scrimmage and heaves his toss as far as he can throw it to the speedy receiver who catches the ball and crosses the goal line before the final buzzer, enabling the RED TEAM to prevail, 41-38.

DESCRIPTION
In 1892, Lars Knutson Rockne leaves Norway for America, in search of a better life for his family. The Rockne family settles in Chicago, where little Knute becomes fascinated by football. Years later, now grown to manhood, Knute finally saves enough money to enroll in Notre Dame, where he excels in chemistry and football. With his roommate Gus Dorais, Knute develops the famous football strategy of the forward pass and defeats the Army team.
