Born to be Wild...
On June 29, 1956, the "Federal-Aid Highway Act of 1956." was signed into law by President Dwight D. Eisenhower. This project was entirely started, designed, and for the benefit of the US Military, though it was sold to the public based on the civilian economic benefits.
The idea for the military was to create a way to get large amounts of men and material across the wide expanse of America as rapidly as possible without a 'single point dependency', which was a way of saying that unlike a rail system, you could not bomb a single point to disable the entire system. It wasn't called "DARPA" back then, but it was the same organization. So the DOD invented the USA highway system. You probably still use them though.
This is the same idea as with Bitcoin. It may well be a DARPA invention, but it is incredibly useful, totally open source so you can see the code, and it is exactly as warranted (secure, limited, et al). Millions of people recognize that BTC has DARPA fingerprints on it. They are still using it to save their asses & assets from the dying ELohim worship cult Babylonian debt money system.
One last example is the AR-15. THE most popular weapon in history. Production figures even exceed the AK-47 produced for decades and formerly the favorite weapon of the irregular armies.
The point being that here are three examples of pretty good thinking that came out of the DOD.
Just because the idea came out of the military does not mean it is a bad idea.
This also applies to AI. All AI development is driven by DARPA at a deep level. ALL AI work is entirely focused, at the deep research level, on creating an AI form that has specific performance characteristics.
No AI yet comes close to the goal of DARPA. We are years away from DARPA (in my opinion) deciding their goal was always unreachable, and changing their tack in development. BUT, without regard to their continuing failure to reach their goal (a 'general' artificial intelligence), the products that they are producing, and that have been spun off into civilian use, are worthwhile investigating and using. Just like the Interstate Highway System. And, your tax dollars (as the saying goes) are paying for it so it makes sense to use if you have a need.
AI is pretty stupid. It's lame, and can't invent a really funny joke, but it is a useful too. For one example, you can use CHATGPT. AI to monitor your meds. You can get a listing of all the interactions of the medicines you take, and prepare a 'prompt injection' for CHAT that includes all the literature from your pharmaceuticals, and then you can ask it to sweep for possible interactions. This prompt injection is just a paragraph or so outlining how you want CHAT to examine the material provide and what sorts of information you want out of the query. You can save these, and then run it again whenever your meds change.
AI is useful as a data analyst. It can be used in financial planning. It can be used to analyze scientific, or medical, research papers and cross compare for discrepancies. It can be used to sift through huge levels of text for any number of purposes.
AI is especially useful for such things as audits of complicated documents like tax codes, or corporate literature, or Laws, ordinances, and Acts. This is very productive for legal cases as you can easily find laws and other legal constraints that are at odds with each other, or form some other point of vulnerability.
Just as a side note, i have had a couple of pre-law courses back in the 1960s, but am not trained. i have also been sued a few times in my 70 years. Most recently by Butthead Corey Goode and his Doofus attorney. i won my case defending against his suit without using AI, as i have won every case involving me. However, now, should someone try to use the Law against me, i have a really kick ass legal assistant in the form of AI.
No need to bore you with the many different ways in which AI can assist your endeavors. There are too many, and even with AI, it would not be meaningful to list them.
As a parting note, i use AI in my 'infowars' work.
Also, AI is free. There are many instances of AI in several forms that are free use on the web. Get savvy. AI is part of your future. USE it. Other people are, and some are targeting you with their prompt injections.
