In the United States, this famous song (featured in the 1930 film "Chasing Rainbows" that starred Jack Benny, among other stars of the time) was recorded and popularized by several artists, including the Ben Selvin and Leo Reisman Orchestras. Following his presidential election in 1932, FDR adopted "Happy Days Are Here Again" as his theme song.

Belgian commemorative band. Leen, Linda, Leslie, Fred and Luke started the project as a 'one time' entertainment act in their re-enactment and collectors club. Soon they were asked by other clubs and organisations. Now, only one year later, they are the number one commemoritive (sic) band in Belgium with regular 'gigs' all over the country. This is their first video.

I think I've watched this 15 times this evening and have sent it in a couple of emails. This video is extremely entertaining. It has a rather surrealistic quality about it. The imagery is hilarious and bigger than life. Yet there is obviously a serious undertone to the theme as the song celebrates the liberation of the world from war. The MacArthur like lead singer steals the show, in my opinion. I sent the video link to a Filipino friend and included a picture and brief article of MacArthur's return to the islands.
