BATTLEFORWORLD.COM | April 2, 2024: Israeli military forces on Monday in a "targeted attack" bombing, killed seven aid workers, including four foreigners that were providing meals for the World Central Kitchen (WCK) an NGO, founded by Spanish-American celebrity chef Jose Andres. And as a result, all operations by the group in the Palestinian enclave have been suspended following the incident.

Initially, five fatalities were reported from the airstrike, but the casualty count was updated by WCK adding to the death toll in a statement released Tuesday. The victims from the Israeli military bombing include a dual US-Canadian citizen, three Palestinians, an Australian, a Pole and a British national, the WCK group announced.

The NGO said its staff members were attacked in the town of Deir al-Balah in central part of Gaza as they were leaving a warehouse after offloading tons of food aid that was delivered earlier to the Palestinian enclave by sea transport. The NGO aid workers were driving through a de-conflicted zone in two armored cars with the WCK logo [clearly visible] on them as well as a vehicle that was not armor-plated. The aid convoy was struck [by Israeli missiles] despite the WCK group coordinating its movements with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), in a statement released by the NGO.

Clearly, according to WCK CEO Erin Gore: "This is not only an attack against WCK, this is an attack on humanitarian organizations showing up in the most dire of situations, where food is being used as a weapon of war. This is unforgivable."
