In today's unpredictable environment, a well-stocked pantry containing long-lasting goods can bring peace of mind. If a catastrophic storm, pandemic, or economic collapse leaves grocery store shelves bare or unaffordable, you don't have to worry about feeding your family. Choose foods that can be stored without refrigeration for a long time.

Mylar bags preserve dry things for decades. When food is exposed to the air, its lifespan decreases. Seal mylar bags with an iron, flat iron, or food sealer.
Oxygen absorbers: oxygen kills food, and so does moisture. One or two packs are enough to keep food safe.
Food-grade five-gallon buckets with lids: buckets keep food dry and pest-free.
Bay leaves stink, so food-eating bugs and pests stay away. Give your food the best chance with a bay leaf and oxygen absorber in mylar bags.
