BATTLEFORWORLD.COM | October 22, 2022: Retired US Army general David Petraeus told France's L’Express weekly on Saturday that the US and its allies may join the conflict in Kiev, Ukraine against Moscow even if there is no threat to NATO member states. That in such a scenario, Washington DC might form a new coalition of the willing and use it instead of NATO, said Petraeus.

He believes that Russia may take some actions in Ukraine that would be "so shocking and so horrific" and this would cause a prompt response from the United States and their allies, where they "might react in one way or another, but as a multinational force led by the US and not as a NATO force."
