ew Homestead Act as Part of National Recovery
Once the USA has openly recaptured control of its government from those exploiting that control for their own gain, there will be a national effort to redirect assets and labor to produce what is needed domestically, as well as to address other problems such as infrastructure, mass media, and education, and promoting values consistent with natural law. The assets necessary to attack these problems will largely be assets seized from bad actors engaged in treason and crimes against humanity. It may also involve freezing all Chinese assets in the US, since the CCP (by many reports) is at war with the US using irregular warfare. One of the types of assets seized will be arable farmland. This seizure may well leave the US government with ownership of most of the farmland in the US, and even most of the farmland under cultivation, since the federal government (by reports) was engaged long before this in taking land for itself for the gain (by reports) of corrupt officials and agencies.
The observed delay in righting the elections of 2020 is due in part to the perceived political friction involved in Disclosure and the programs necessary for recovery. A new Homestead Act (link: Homestead Act of 1862) has the prospect of reducing this friction in the same way the Civilian Conservation Corps reduced the impact (in part) of the Depression. Such an Act could give many unemployed or under-employed citizens hope and occupy them productively.
The Federal Government could start this program by setting up education, training, and qualification programs. Education would mandate the teaching of gardening in high schools. Applicants for the program would qualify either by testing or enter a training program. Upon acceptance into the program, qualified applicants would be "loaned" a given amount of farmland, with the Federal government also providing wells, power, road access, seed, fertilizer, mobile homes, and electrical power. The no-cost "loan" would gradually be forgiven over time assuming the land was productively under cultivation.
The original Homestead Acts envisioned parcels as large as 160 acres. This tract seems perhaps unnecessarily large, considering the vertical farming methods in use by gardeners for subsistence farming. Much of the requirement for acreage is due to the requirements of grass-eating cattle. If the Federal Government helped with forage, the parcel size necessary for this program could be considerably reduced.
The benefits of this program would be:
1) An independent citizenry. No longer would a citizen have to think about working for others, as this program would open the way for citizens to work for themselves. This independence removes the onus of the Federal Government for thinking its role is providing sustenance (relief) rather than opportunity. This redefinition of the role of government promotes Liberty over the Tyranny promoted by enabling Government to be the arbiter of who gets whose money.
2) The removal of sympathy for malcontents. With sufficient opportunity, those who choose not to work will have less traction for Socialistic arguments.
3) Increased and diversified domestic production of food. With this national resource less and less under the control of Big Business, there is less room for corporations to use their leverage against the citizenry. Also, there is less and less room for foreign elements to control vital systems and resources.
4) Relief from unemployment. The destruction of jobs in the US has been overwhelming, and has had considerable effect on the national character. It is no small problem that so many are on various types of relief, that their sole source of hope is to press the government for More. Instead of this injurious circumstance, one's life could be devoted toward the self-respect of accomplishment and financial independence. The nation would also benefit by removing a great volume of persons from welfare roles, so that its assets could be devoted to the rightful tasks of government.
This proposal is suggested with the hope that it will provoke a discussion on this topic, as many such discussions shall be needed to revitalize and rebuild America.
