I’ve been watching this back and forth discussion of digital currency for some time. Some in the Truth Movement consider it to be the future of money. Others are avoiding it or perhaps just can’t afford it. Even people I respect, like Clif High seem to be onboard with turning your paper money into digital.

Another friend and I have debated the intelligence of acquiring gold. He is very much against it, or used to be. I agree that precious metals have been artificially repressed in value. The prices are set in the City of London by the same elite who think the world is over-populated and must be culled.

So, what does the average person do? It would have to be an individual decision as everyone’s circumstances differ. I’m not any kind of financial genius or I’d be living on a private island somewhere away from the craziness that America has become. But, I have always believed in diversification. That will mean different things to different people. It all comes down to an old saying, “Don’t put all of your eggs in one basket.” Makes sense to me. If I did invest in digital, it would not be the only thing I put my money into.

I also agree with Steve Quayle on one point. “If you can’t hold it in your hand (other than land and buildings), you don’t own it.” In other words, I would opt for physical gold and silver and avoid the precious metal markets. After physical gold and silver, I would invest in real estate, farm land, pasture land, rental properties. After that, I would buy barter items, heritage seeds, sugar, flour, coffee, alcohol, cigarettes, etc.

But, back to bitcoin. Applying my logic, if you can’t hold it in your hand, no thanks. I’m well aware that some people, smart enough to have gotten in on the ground floor, have made a lot of money from bitcoin. I am also aware that digital coins are too subject, at some point, to the Chinese social credit scoring. Just how secure is the digital market really?

It may not happen that the government/banks could use the digital currency to control your behavior and each person will have to decide for themselves, but gambling has never been my thing. And when it comes to investing, that is still a form of gambling. I would never invest money I couldn’t afford to lose. I will stick with precious metal, and land. If an EMP would occur, or man-made grid down scenario, which I understand is a real possibility, how would you collect on bitcoin or other digital currency? The precious metals and land would still be here. Any Ideas?
