Whatever party you belong to; however you felt about Jan 6, 2021, do some research and look at how many new legislations have been instituted and in some cases, passed since then related to that incident.
Not long after the protest, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, used that protest to reintroduce (he's tried this before) and pass a very unAmerican, unconstitutional, anti-protest bill that he had failed to get passed previously.
First of all, I'm tired of hearing how great DeSantis is. Yes, he's bucked the fake Biden administration (theater). Yes, he hasn't followed along with any of the mandates. But, this bill has the feel of a shell game as he is, at the same time, trying to remove or limit our first amendment right of free speech, the right to assemble, and to petition the government for the redress of grievances.
Any excuse will do. Wasn't it after Gabby Gifford was shot in 2011, that some legislation was passed restricting our access to political speakers? I seem to remember something about that.
If anyone, including DeSantis, doesn't know our Constitution, especially the Bill of Rights any better than that, I'm certainly not going to support them for any higher office.
Secondly, anyone, whatever their party, who would compare the Capitol protests to the summer of 2020 riots through several states, is not to be trusted. These are politicians for God's sake.
Politician's Rules- #1: Get elected. Rule #2: Get reelected. Rule #3:Surround yourself with useful people who will further your career/fill your bank accounts. Rule #4: While in office, legislate/sign legislation that limits the rights of the people and benefits you. Rule #5: Don't get caught. Rule #6:If caught, deny, deny, deny. Did I miss anything?
Is DeSantis really that delusional? Or did he just recognize an opportunity to further cement politicians into more power and limit citizens' ability to confront and remove politicians from office? And why? He's done a pretty good job for his state. However, if he can't see the difference between the summer of real terrorist activity by the BLM and Antifa and patriotic citizens gathering to protest a stolen election, where even the FBI Director said the vast majority of protestors were guilty of not much more than trespassing, I would be keeping an eye on him. He is not to be trusted.
Of course, DeSantis isn't the only one who has used the 2020 riots to compare that to the January 6th protests. It should be pretty clear why. How soon after 9/11 was the Patriot Act passed? You have to know it was already written and waiting in the wings to be rammed through Congress taking advantage of the fear of the citizens.
Obama used false flag gun shootings as soon as he got into office, in an attempt to get rid of that pesky 2nd amendment. Instead, Americans bought even more guns.
It doesn't matter which party is in power. They are just two sides of the same Swamp. Refer to Politician's Rules. This is exactly why the Founding Fathers wrote the Constitution and then added the Bill of Rights. They knew a time would come when the American people might have to overthrow a tyrannical government and install one more to their liking. Refer to the Declaration of Independence and this quote from our first president, George Washington.

No wonder there has been a concerted effort by today's politicians to denigrate our Founding Fathers. I just heard today that quotes from our Founding Fathers are being deleted from the Internet. The seeds of socialism cannot grow to harvest in the soil of the patriots. That is what they fear. Divide and conquer was one of the planks of Vladimir Lenin and Saul Alinsky, both instructions for destroying a government and installing socialism. If the Deep State can use our differences to keep us fighting each other, that will distract us from seeing and stopping what they are doing.
The American people showed the Deep State what we could do when they thought they had cheated enough to get Hillary into office in 2016. They weren't going to let that happen again. I'm betting they overplayed their hand and left all kinds of clues of how much they cheated. Now, if the members of the Supreme Court can manage to find their backbone along with their patriotism and integrity, we may be able to right several wrongs.
We the People need to stop dancing to the politician's tunes and stop fighting each other over every aspect of politics. We simply need to know our Constitution and Bill of Rights. We need to fight any attempt to water down our God-given rights. And, we need to pay attention to what our elected officials say and do. Vote for the person, not the party.
If any of them attempt to water down our constitutional rights, we will know that they are "the enemy within" and should be removed from office regardless of the letter in front of their name.
As far as I'm concerned, John Kennedy was the last real president until Trump. I would say from the rally numbers, the majority of Americans shared that view. That is why they gathered in D.C. on January 6th. Not to overthrow the government, though it was well deserved. But to support their president.
We need to ask those Senators who rubberstamped the electoral votes, why? They knew the election was stolen. I hope there will be consequences for their actions. Those Senators betrayed their president and the American people who supported him. I will never again support and vote for my Senator who was part of that sorry sham.
If We the People don't start holding our politician's feet to the fire, we might just as well surrender peacefully to the tyranny being used on us. I wouldn't be surprised if the Deep State allowed us to continue fighting each other in the FEMA camps as they continue to pit us against each other.
