The world may not be aware of this, but there is a military confrontation brewing in the South China sea that could lead to a world war and the use of nuclear weapons.
Right now Taiwan has 100% of their military on high alert and active. Everyday the Chinese have sent over a minimum of 10 fighter planes into Taiwan airspace - for over 12 days in a row. The danger is still climbing between the two countries, and has not subsided one bit.

Taiwan is not leaving anything to chance. They feel they are ready for anything the commies will throw at them. Japan is poised to defend not only Taiwan but their own islands nearby. A large portion of the Japanese navy is currently close to Taiwan, along with ships from the UK, the Indian navy, plus a few other Canadian and Australian ships - in addition to several US aircraft battle groups in the area. This build up of military power is the largest in that region since WW2. This is all ramping up to a break out in war because China has made their intentions clear that they are taking back Taiwan where 23 million free citizens live in a democracy. And, anyone that gets in their way they with punish with a nuclear attack.

The most recent issue is about the nuclear powered subs Australia will build, using US technology.
But, the Chinese may not wait until Australia has finished building them before they make a move on Australia.

The bad economy in China is putting pressure on them to make moves on Taiwan and punish anyone that disagrees with them.
There are clear signs that the US is posied to defend Taiwan with military power. But with the complication of the Biden's being financially connected to the Chinese communists, I'm not sure what the USA will do - but Japan and the UK won't take it sitting down. Which begs the question: If Japan and UK interests are threatened, would the US just stand down and do nothing? It is looking more likely that the US will respond against China with military force - and they have the navy and military assets in the area to exercise that option.

Digging up news on this subject has been very difficult the past few weeks. A person has to read beyond the headlines to draw any conclusions. Naturally, neither side is wanting to reveal their true plans or their positions. To be quite honest, we'll be fortunate if we escape this time without a major confrontation. I feel sorry for all the people that will be in harm's way if and when a war breaks out.

The Taiwan citizens are being awful brave to make this stand, it is nearly suicidal. If the allies don't help them, the result will be thousands dead on that island and very dark days ahead for the survivors.
I am also baffled by Japan's position which has exposed them to deadly retaliation from China. I honestly don't know how these competing nations are going to maneuver their way around this problem. It appears that all sides are intractable in their views and intentions. Taiwan hasn't made it easy for the commies to make a quick and clean invasion/takeover when D day happens.

Once a military conflict starts, the lead will fly from a lot of different locations, and China won't forget those that fired on them, killed their soldiers and bombed their cities close to the island on the Chinese mainland.

Even with a Chinese win, how does America extricate themselves from the wrath of China and the trade issues involved from then on? There would be a period of political transition that would take a while before the Chinese would even consider opening up shipping to the US. During that waiting period, our lack of imports would drastically affect the national supply lines. That is what we will face even with a quick Chinese victory.

If there is a massive military confrontation, the war could get ugly for weeks, and regardless what direction it goes, it would make peace a difficult thing to achieve. In addition to that, with the allies ramping up their military options, and China doing the same, there is a real possibility of it going nuclear at the very minimum in localized, tactical ways, on both sides. And in addition to that, during that escalation it is also possible China would try to hit a US city. If it gets to that level and we lose a city on our mainland, then the US and the UK would be obligated to respond against Chinese cities with nuclear missiles.

This places US and UK cities at a genuine risk of being hit by even more nukes in a direct retaliation by China. All of the nations involved, including India, have a tremendous amount to lose in this confrontation if it continued to escalate into a full war. This valid issue is not being shared with people around the world and once this nightmare begins the world will be in shock.
If China decides to make an offensive act of aggression, it will begin a chain of events that cannot be easily stopped, or even slowed down. The result would be a world we would not recognize and a new era of warfare and political instability that would forever change our economies, our sense of security and our lifestyles. George Eaton
