These occur because of the electromagnetic radiation from the Earth and Sun. A visualization might look something like the electric globes of purple light, where streamers connect with your fingertips.

On an astronomical scale, these bands of electromagnetism pass across the Earth in cycle with our rotation and orbit. They also pass through living organisms on the surface and have an effect on the cells.

For example, 7.5Ghz waves have been shown to cause endoplasmic reticulum stress and subsequent intracellular calcium signaling atypically. This is an example of second messenger signaling, which usually occurs in conjunction with other signaling pathways, however it is now happening alone. The result is that the cell begins to due things out of order and we feel it as an illness. If people are malnourished, use drugs, have a large amount of aged or weakened cells, they will be more likely to experience the ill effects.

This happens seasonally, or in pockets, due to the electromagnetic influence. Birds use these electromagnetic changes to migrate, and flowers use it during their lifecycles too. However, different frequencies can have affects on different parts of the cell, thus resulting in different symptoms.

For example, 1-5ghz waves affect the voltage gates in cell membranes, 7.5 the endoplasmic reticulum, 60Ghz reaches the nucleus. Still others only affect the skin.

I have more research examples, and many for aluminum, but this email is already getting long. I would add that a strong argument can be made that it is these bands of electromagnetism that shape our planet, creating the hot zones and forming coastlines.

For example, as the band sweeps across the middle east and Africa, it creates a desert and drags out the west African edge. As it crosses the Atlantic, it creates hurricanes which want to stay over water because of the conductivity. The band hits the resistance from land masses near Cuba and Florida, if it goes over land, the electrical resistance kills the storm. If it goes more west, it carves out the Gulf of Mexico, north it carves the shape of the eastern seaboard. Pole switches and influence from the Sun also play parts in how they cycle over time.

Everything in the solar system, including us,is connected to the Sun by Birkeland currents. It is a major driver of our weather patterns.
