BATTLEFORWORLD.COM | June 18, 2021: BattleForWorld.com was the first news blog to mention the possibility that the medical establishment was going to give the public antiviral medicine to better manage their COVID disease and to have it go into remission, just like what is being done with HIV/AIDS.

And in the news today, the Biden administration announced on Thursday (June 18) that plans to invest more than $3.2 billion in developing antiviral medicines to treat COVID-19 and other viruses with pandemic potential. The name of the rapid-speed program is called 'Antiviral Program for Pandemics' - is a "whole-of-government effort that will speed up clinical trials of promising* drug candidates and develop next-generation treatments for COVID-19 and other viruses that could cause future pandemics," said White House chief medical advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci at a news conference.

That the pills* for COVID-19 would be used to minimize symptoms after infection, are in development and could begin arriving by the end of 2021, pending the completion of trials. Dr. Fauci noted that the government has a "great deal of optimism that this program will be as successful" as similar federally-funded projects for viruses like HIV and Hepatitis C.

Further adding that soon Americans will take a course of pills from home at the beginning of the illness to help prevent the worst impacts of the coronavirus, and expressed hope that the therapeutics would eventually be as useful as drugs taken to treat HIV and hepatitis C.
