Well before dawn on tuesday, Belgium experienced its biggest police raid ever. Years of planning by a small police task force was put into action against organised crime. 1700 plus policemen were deployed, but none of the 'rank and file' police were briefed until the preceding night because of concerns over information leaks. It worked, and the raids appear to have been a complete surprise.

Over 200 sites were raided in a co-ordinated and simultaneous strike. Locations included Brussels (Home of the EU administration and NATO), Antwerp (a major port with a reputation for illegal drugs smuggling), Liege, Charlois (known as a mafia centre), Mons and other cities.

More than 50 people are now in police custody. Some two billion encrypted e-mail messages have been recovered, and it is reported that the encryption system has already been broken. This reveals a multi-national big crime syndicate, so it is safe to assume that there will be raids in other countries as the network is swept up.

The official line is that this is all about drugs. However, my contacts suggest that child trafficing is also involved. With major crime organisations, anything that can be trafficked for profit will be - unlike small scale crime, that does not have capacity and resources to work on multiple fronts.

It is public knowledge that politicians and senior government appointees are frequently compromised by illegal sexual acts, including with children. This is part of a cabal scheme to blackmail and then control people in key and senior positions. It is run by the likes of Geoffrey Epsein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Brussels represents a huge available 'market' for such perverting activity, with its huge political and administrative sector.
