Dave Rubin of The Rubin Report talks to Marian Tupy (editor, Humanprogress.org) to get a good dose of optimism and to discuss the ignored story of global poverty reduction, debunk the myths of the US’s rising CO2 emissions, and what environmental activists like Extinction Rebellion get so wrong about climate change. Marian also confronts the arguments of climate change alarmists like Greta Thunberg, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and apocalypse fearing organizations like Extinction Rebellion who fear a world where we lose many lives to climate change caused natural disasters. What they overlook is that fatalities from disasters like tsunamis, hurricanes, and earthquakes has declined by 99% over the last 100 years. Contrary to their doomer worldview the world is getting much safer as we see less major wars like the World Wars of the 20th century. There has been a brief uptick in civil wars, but even these are in long term decline. Marian also remarks on how stockpiles of nuclear weapons have also seen a long term decline.
