As it stands now there are 5 hot spot military conflicts across the globe that are very close to erupting into full scale wars. One is between Russia and Ukraine, with Russia sending in a huge number of tanks and equipment on the Ukrainian border which they call a “training exercise”. The Ukrainian leadership is saying this is a prelude to war. But so far it is not clear if Russia has that intent at this time.
The next area of special interest in in Iran. There have been numerous explosions and fires on Iranian nuclear and missile sites the past two weeks. Now there is a major fire on an Iranian port involving at least 7 ships. Everyone that researches this topic know that it is anti-Iranian insurgents that are doing these disruptive acts, which are most likely directed and financed by Israel. It appears to be only a matter of time before Iran strikes back at Israel and when they do, Israel will go to war, and have the backing of the US as well. Once a major war starts against Iran it could go nuclear, with Israel and Iran both getting hit by nuclear bombs. Once that happens the conflict could spill over against US bases in the region or even towards the US mainland.
There is a major conflict brewing between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which are both close to Turkey and Russia. There has been cultural animosity between those two countries for many decades. Rallies have been held in Azerbaijan by tens of thousands of citizens demanding the government attack Armenia for that they consider acts of war against their soldiers on the border. If that happens it is possible Turkey and Russia could be drawn into the conflict on opposite sides. Rumors persist that Turkey is goading the Russian government into a war.
One of the most dangerous situations on the globe is brewing in Libya with several nations taking sides against each other. The rebel force headed by General Haftar has control of the great majority of Libya, and has been tied down outside the city of Tripoli. Haftar has at least one gulf state nation on his side plus Greece and also Russian mercenaries. The other side (GNA) has the UN, Turkey and Egypt on their side to name a few. Egypt has a large group of tanks and military forces on the border ready to invade on the eastern border. Turkey has ships converging on the northern area close to Libya, along with fighter jets and helicopters ready to carry on an offense attack. The goal is to take a port called Sirte, which is east of Tripoli. A large contingent of Libyan tribal leaders have taken a passenger jet to Egypt to ask for help to invade Libya and destroy the rebel forces that control most of Libya. The US has not taken sides officially, but appear to back the original Libyan government that was so corrupt they were running open slave markets on the streets of Tripoli. It is also unknown just how far Russia will go to defend Haftar in this war. It appears that Turkey and Egypt are gambling that Russia will not get involved further because it would not be worth the risk or the cost. It is possible a war could break out there within hours.
The fifth hotspot is the South China Sea where the US government has recently made declarations that the claims on islands in the vast region are invalid, and they will back up their stand with US Naval and airpower against China. The US has also stopped all special trade agreements with Hong Kong because they are no longer able control their own economy and human rights against mainland China. The decoupling between communist China and the US is in full swing and a state of war is close to a reality between the two nations. The US has a huge array of Navy ships including two aircraft carriers, and a flotilla of ships and submarines in the South China Sea area. A war could break out there with only one incident between ships or aircraft. This conflict area is also connected to the defense of Taiwan where it is rumored that Red China wants to invade and subdue Taiwan and bring them back into total control for their 75th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese communist government. There are only 5 months left in the year to make that happen. In the mix is North Korea which has severed all ties with South Korea and the United States. With North Korea having at least 50 nuclear weapons and the missiles to deliver them, this makes the region a very volatile area that could explode into a war at any time. This would also affect Japan and all the other South Eastern Asian nations, and Australia as well.
The pandemic across the globe has not made things any better, but has actually set the nations on edge and made things worse. As a second wave of the virus is hitting the nations, everyone is on edge and doesn’t know what to expect. Now there is a report from China that the bubonic black plague has broken out in a western area close to China. If bubonic plague breaks out and moves across nations as the Corona Virus has, it could kill millions of people worldwide.
Because of all of the military hotspots and the continuing pandemic it is recommended that people make sure they have the supplies to make it through an extension of the shutdown quarantine and the possibility of economic disruptions. Food supplies are starting to run low because the new crops are not being planted as much as they normally are every year, and the meat packing plants have also been shut down. In addition to that, the US mint has been shut down because of the pandemic and now there is a shortage of cash and coins available. Many businesses are no longer taking cash for purchases.
The shutdown has been going on since mid-March and now we are in mid-July, and instead of things opening up, they are getting worse with more cases and deaths. This means the recovery is no where in sight but is getting worse for the nation, and Americans need to make adjustments and plans accordingly. George Eaton
