As many of you are aware, the June 27 Olympia’s March For Our Rights rally was allegedly sabotaged by the Warren G Hardings Band and Sasha Baron Cohen. We were informed that Hardings and Cohen had gotten on stage, sang racist lyrics and made multiple hateful remarks then escaped in a private ambulance when security and attendee’s attempted to stop their hateful rhetoric. Hardings and Cohen did this for the purpose of tarnishing the image of our attendees, spreading hate, encouraging divide, and promoting their popularity in the current viral culture.

Although Washington 3% was not the event organizer of Olympia’s March For Our Rights Rally, we do give our 100% support to this event and will continue to support similar future events. The juvenile prank Cohen had orchestrated and his racist bigotry does not reflect the sentiments of the event organizers or the Washington 3%. We, Washington 3% support and respect all protected speech regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation and or political affiliation. As such, we neither condone nor support the vile statements made by Cohen. Cohen and his supporters have passed along their vile actions of hate as an overt act of the Washington 3%, calling us racists. This assertion is simply not true and we will defend this position vehemently. Washington 3% was there as guests and attendees. Washington 3% was neither the event organizer nor the security detail. Washington 3% was not aware of Cohen’s plans and the racist content he had intended to disseminate in public. As such, Washington 3% has been the target and the victim of Cohen’s self serving publicity stunt.

Washington 3% is NOT a right wing militia. We are a freedom loving organization built on diversity and unity. We focus our efforts and energy on social services and community support. We will continue to fight for and support the rights and freedoms of our fellow American. We will also continue to fight against vile racist behaviors like those perpetuated by Cohen and Hardings.
