I am not sure what Trump will do about Venezuela, but with the converging Iranian oil tankers arriving in the area in the next few days, he will either enforce the embargo and have them stopped or let them through. And, stopping them could lead to a war with Venezuela, and create a military response from Iran. Iran has said if those tankers are bothered in any way they will take serious moves against US assets. Which makes me wonder if they will retaliate by bombarding our military bases in some locations in the Middle East.
China is making additional moves on Hong Kong, which Trump has said he will back the freedom fighters. We just sold $180 million in military equipment to Taiwan as well, which has infuriated the communists on mainland China.
The North Korean leader is missing again. The fake guy they used for a few days last time, different teeth and all, has not been seen in a while.
Israel is about to take control of the West Bank. This is seen as a red line for many Muslims in the Middle East, and Trump is backing Israel on this. Millions of Palestinians are jam packed into that small area without full time electricity or good water. It is a disaster waiting to happen. The Israeli government treat them worse than dogs, but the Palestinians are looked at as a serious terrorist threat to the state of Israel. And neither side is working towards a positive solution. Hezbollah is preparing for something in the southern border of Lebanon, and Israel may be preparing for a military confrontation in the region.
Libya is about to explode in a major confrontation between the two factions. Turkey has sent in quite a few military assets and Haftar is about to take them out. Quite a few Russian Pantzir military equipment has been destroyed by the Anti Haftar forces - which is the current failing government and pro UN, US and Turkish forces. The tide has turned against Haftar and he had to retreat out of the Tripoli area. His generals have said that their next move is against major Turkish forces converged in one area, in an operation he said will be "very painful".
All of the global hot spots are on a knife's edge and anything could happen - and I haven't even mentioned the skirmishes between India and Pakistan, and India and China or the ongoing deteriorating situation in the South China Sea. George Eaton
