Google's great Alternative Medicine Purge of 2019 continues to make waves, and is starting to draw the attention of more conventionally minded folks who once thought this topic was solely the stuff of 'conspiracy theorists.' In the article I wrote this morning, I provide an important update on just how profound the impact of this digital book burning has been (and Google and its allies are not done yet!).

I think it's important to grasp the larger context here.

For instance, did you know that there are approximately 350 billion health searches on Google every year?

What happens, then, when you strip the results of anything but pharmaceutical and conventional medical advice? The death of informed consent, for one.

Information is not only the life's blood of surveillance capitalism (did you know data is more valuable than oil in today's post-industrial economy?) but of democracy itself. Without free access to it, everything we hold dear is at risk of disappearing with it.
