DOES LIFE KNOW WHAT IT’S DOING?

Whether life knows what it’s doing, is irrelevant (since life does what it does) and since humans are part of what life does (and since life does all things ITS WAY) we have no choice but to deal with the way life does things, and since we have to deal with life doing life its way, logic, reason and wisdom suggest that we deal with life so it benefits us, not hurts us.

What hurts us? What makes our lives unpleasant? What causes us to suffer life instead of enjoying life? What makes us unhealthy, ill, sick, diseased and kills us prematurely? What makes relationships difficult or impossible?

If you touch a hot stove you get burned. If you know that if you touch a hot stove and will get burned and you touch it anyway, that’s illogical, irrational and stupid (unless you do it consciously, and then you’re just nuts).

If you fight life, if you kick against the pricks of this reality, if you mentally and emotionally are against life doing what life does, doing life its way, you are willfully and knowingly touching a hot stove and will get burned. You will suffer your stupidity mentally, emotionally and physically. And if you do it consciously, you’re nuts.

Of course you want life to go your way. Of course you want your life to be pleasant. Of course you want to enjoy all that is life. Of course you don’t want to get sick, diseased old, or die prematurely. Of course you don’t want earth disasters, human created disasters, war, crime, get cheated, robbed, lose loved ones. Of course you don’t want to have an accident, be victimized, lose your job, career, house, or have acne. Of course you want your perfect life. Of course you want to go from cradle to grave smiling all the way, but THAT’S NOT LIFE.

Life is pain. Life is hard. Life is challenging. Life is drama. Life is adventure. Life is waking up each morning into the unknown of a changing day where anything can happen. Life is tough. Life is demanding. Life is unsure. Life will kick your butt and finally kill you. Life is death waiting to happen. Life is hell.

Consider enjoying it.

When something happens that is unpleasant, like losing your leg, why complicate the loss by losing your mind?

When a loved one is sick or injured or dies, why complicate the event by going berserk mentally, emotionally and physically. Why not chill and just have another cigarette, or better still, eat some rhubarb pie.

If you go berserk enough, get mad enough and holler loud enough when life doesn’t deliver its goodies on a golden platter to your front door, we could visit you in the nut house, or better still, not go to your funeral either. One more melted snow flake gone. One more idiot missing from its village. One more Darwin casualty. Life couldn’t get any better if it tried. nem
