There is no significant news going on so far today, Thursday, August 15, 2019. The situation between India and Pakistan is still growing worse as the two sides have traded fire in the Kashmir area with 3 Pakistanis killed and 5 Indians killed. It appears that India has taken control of the two regions in the North West, which is the high elevation Kashmir area. And Pakistan is vowing to defend that area.
The Chinese government has sent apx. 300 armored personnel carriers to the outskirts of Hong Kong but have not entered the city. There are rumors that protest leaders have asked citizens in Hong Kong to withdraw all their money from the banks Friday. No word if that actually will happen.
Argentina is still suffering from their stock market declining and the loss of their currency value . This is due to the socialist policies of the leftist politicians which also happened in Venezuela.
For the first time in many years the yield on 2 and 10 year CDs have reversed, which means the return in value of a 10 year note is less than the 2 year note. It has gone below 2% to levels around 1.90%. This shows that the experts that invest in notes have no confidence that their 10 year note will be of much value. This indicates the financial and economic outlook is looking dim. And, without solid investments in those notes in a good economic future, the financial experts will not purchase those notes but place their money elsewhere, like in gold and silver. So a person would lose money buying those notes if they bought them. A less than 2% return on a 10 year note would not even keep up with inflation. Without confidence in an economic future, it could cause the entire financial system to collapse, which is what happened in 1929 and in 2008.
The autopsy of Epstein, if it is truly the right body, has shown broken bones in an area that is more consistent with strangulation rather than by suicide by hanging. It is unclear if a final determination has been made yet on the cause of death. But if the coroner follows the percentages and irregularities involved in the failure to monitor Epstein properly, it would lead to a cause of death of murder by strangulation.
The situation in the Middle East is fairly quiet. Syria has made more progress against terrorist armies in the Idlib area. The US and Turkey still hold a substantial area in eastern Syria.
The US was trying to stop the release of an Iranian oil tanker ship heading to Syria, but the British government in Gibraltar appeared to determined to release the ship. There are no actions or confrontations going on in the Persian gulf.
There were two major explosions in northern Siberia in Russia , one in the ocean area where a missile exploded that had a experimental nuclear reactor on board for faster speeds. The radioactive fallout was substantial causing the locals to take Potassium Iodide pills. But the radiation dangers subsided within 2 days. The other explosion was at an ammo storage facility in the same general area but further south inland. The missile explosion resulted in the deaths of about 6 people. It is unknown if there were any deaths in the second explosion, but there were injuries.
With Trump dragging his feet in getting a war started with Iran, and also avoiding wars in different hot spots in the world, it appears that the globalists are shifting their attention towards the converging global economic and financial collapse. The financial problems that have been avoided with accounting tricks and borrowing more money is still headed for a disastrous end, the bursting of a bubble, unless a major war breaks out. The huge bank in Europe, Deutch bank, is still seeing its share value going down, which is under $6 a share now. If it collapses it could cause a domino affect that would spread from Europe to the rest of the world.
If a war breaks out between India and Pakistan it could go nuclear where thousands or more could be killed. The end result would be China taking more control of the Northern Kashmir area while India and Pakistan stand down and lick their wounds.
The situation in Hong Kong could build to a similar situation like Tinnammin square where the Communists massacred hundreds of people. The big question is will the British get involved and the US help them defend the protestors? No one knows how Trump will react to that situation. A confrontation with China has the potential that could lead to a nuclear war.
The situation in the US with mass shootings is still building, with more shootings every week. Trump's daughter Ivanka has been visiting Congress and pushing for more gun controls, which is infuriating the NRA supporters and those that defend the Second Amendment. Ivanka is coming across as a ditzy beauty contestant that comes up with pat answers that have little substance, but the typical 'poise" to impress beauty contest judges. This display of nepotism would be amusing if it weren't so pathetic. The weakening of the Second Amendment with restrictions against so called assault rifles would be bad for the nation, and could start a process where confrontations erupt between law abiding citizens and gun grabbing, police state mercenaries.
