I've noticed an unusual amount of power outages across the nation that haven't been reaching the news media as an important story. And, when one area is back on, another area seems to pop up. Right now more than 500,000 households across the nation are now without power. Here are a few examples of how many homes are without power:

These outages seem very unusual to me in the middle of the Summer. I check on it every few days, and it seems that the numbers remain consistent across the nation but the states out of power change. A few days ago California and Arizona had high numbers.
In the entire state of Alaska only one home is out of power. Hawaii has 3 out. Between Idaho, Montana and Wyoming only 4 homes are without power.
