Humans are typically kind, and generous, until they have been abused, or until they have been propagandized with fake stories, images, audio, video, or religious indoctrination.

So, initially, what you give, is what you get. Until, you interact with someone who has had other experiences with other people or institutions, that have abused them. Some of the abusees will react not just to their abusers, but to any that look or sound the same as their abusers. So, while you may have not been unkind to someone, somebody else may have, and you may pay for it if not prepared.

What is often labeled as evil, is usually related to prior experiences. What used to be labeled as racist is usually related to prior experiences.

The idea of racism, used to be defined as someone who assumes that all members of a particular skin color behave exactly the same way. As if they all have the same intentions, traits and characteristics, cultural upbringing, or walked the same path in life. So for example, if some old white guy has previously had a bad experience with a black man when they were young, he may carry that mental baggage with him during every encounter with any member of the black skinned population, even now in the present.

When some "terrorist" in the middle east kills "americans" it might have something to do with prior actions and behaviors of the bought and paid for US government, with its military, killing relatives, killing neighbors, destroying infrastructure, etc..

There are always reasons for someone's choices and actions.

"He received orders, and followed them"

The "terrorist" did have intentions to benefit himself. Hence the quoted statements, and cause & effect of reality. Why would he specifically state "americans" if it wasn't relevant? It is absurd to say the man killed for no reason. The only way that statement makes sense, is by pointing out that these particular americans were not part of the US military, and did not have any ill will towards muslims either. As if, a religious zealot, or angered population member abused by a foreign government, would stop to consider that fact in the heat of the moment.

Religious programming is a reason. Governments being used as weapons for conquest of resources is a reason. No reason should be used to justify more stupidity, but every cause has an effect, even if misapplied by someone who believes they are a God sanctioned vigilante.

I think there is enough naivete to go around..
