The outgoing UK Prime Minister Theresa May is considering a one-on-one meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the side-lines of the G20 summit in Japan later this month (June) to try and thaw relations before her successor takes power, The Times reported.

If a meeting can be arranged, it would be the first high-level encounter since the Salisbury incident.

May’s representatives haven’t commented on the report from The Times so far, and Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that there's no information about such meeting being planned yet, and so he cannot comment on it.
