The Heroes Journey

The Underworld Journey may literally portray 'Being Swallowed-Eaten-Chewed-Assimilated by an Earth who gets sick of you for rising up.

The Inner-Digestive Earth retains you and constantly replays you (like eating 3 times a day) as part of an old 'Chase Movie' like Jumanji, or 'Zombie Movie' like Invasion Of the Body Snatchers, where people are no longer normal. The Hero now co-exists in a Shadow World with echoes of Death.

Automatic, Non-Thinking functions which existed in The background are now moved to the Foreground as prime Mechanical lifeforms in their own right.

Incessant communication from Chainsaws, Lawnmowers continue on unnaturally for hours in their own right, doing no work. The Unmuffled cars are unmolested by the Police, and not thought of as ridiculously loud. Perhaps its like the sound of a Heartbeat from inside you. The endless parade of automobiles may represent blood-cells, or bacteria that is omnipresent. The Humans have become unnecessary to this SCI-FI WORLD, which does not LIKE or NEED HUMANS.

If the Hero's Journey represents being Swallowed by a WHALE, how does one effect REGURGITATION, getting SPIT OUT. Silly Humans thought movie-experiences like Truman Show or Snow White or Wizard Of Oz only lasted for hours, but they become life-threatening when they persist for a Decade or more.
