The mayan calendar is based on the cyclical nature of the universe whereas we Westerners got stuck with a linear timeline putting us out of the cyclical consciousness into the linear consciousness.
Any cyclical calendar like the 28 days moon calendar kan bring your consciousness back in connection with everything as all is connected through cycles and the biggest cycle being the universe.
It should come with a warning that it will take you out of the matrix of linear time and you get to see and know things that you only read about in books about occultism and magic.

My consciousness doesn’t work with months, weeks but with equinoxes, shortest and longest day, the cycle of the year, sinuswaves, duality fully well aware that everything returns, nothing is lost or gone forever as cycles repeat as long as the universe exists. Cycles interconnect creating other cycles and if there was one description fitting the notion, as above so below and as below so above than that would be the cyclical nature of the universe and everything it contains.
The biggest cycle known to us is the precession of the equinoxes and as we travel along this cycle with our solarsystem, things happen.
Cycles repeat, a day repeats in a year and a year repeats in the travel along the precession of the equinoxes.

As we experience seasons travelling around the sun through one year we experience seasons in our travels along the precession of the equinoxes.
India and the Vedas give these seasons name of metals.
Gold is spring, Silver is summer, bronze is autumn and iron or it’s more popular name, the kali yuga, is winter.
Currently we are in the cosmic wintertime on the verge of passing into cosmic spring or gold, or how new age calls it the golden era.
Knowing about cycles and that they repeat you can decode everything within this universe.
The problem with the cosmic seasons along the 26000 great year travel is that they last for 6500 year or so and our lifespan being about 80 years we cannot wrap our mind around such big timelines. Thats why ancestors left warnings, signs, art, buildings for future generations to decode what is coming or happening.
Yes, the Mayan calendar or the mooncalendar has a chance to wake your consciousness to the cyclical nature of life, the universe and everything in it.
