This reminds me, that just because people can't see all that goes into ants collecting food for the winter, doesn't mean grasshoppers are entitled to the food the ants collected, so to speak.
The grasshoppers have the same ability to plan ahead and work for their needs and desires, just like the ants do. The grasshoppers have equality with the ants in that respect. Another way to say this, is equality of opportunity, as Jordan Peterson has already pointed out.
If the ants have greater skill, then maybe the grasshoppers could learn from the ants.
If the ants monopolized agriculture, through government lobbying, bribes, blackmail, and/or well financed PR campaigns to induce government legislation to favor ants over any other specie, then I could see the desire of the grasshoppers to play dirty in response. You know, all is fair in love and war..
