Everything Is at Stake

March is named after Mars, the Roman god of war. The ancient Romans began their military campaigns in March as winter was ending and the spring thaw allowed for military operations to begin. In fact, March was the first month on their calendar. Similar to the Greek god of war, Ares, Mars was viewed slightly differently by the Romans. Whereas Ares was viewed with a degree of contempt for being a destructive force, Mars represented military strength as a means to achieve peace for the Romans.

While the temperature may not matter so much in Florida, being a bit of a traditionalist, I scrambled to file a Writ of Mandamus in the Supreme Court of Florida by early March. This Writ of Mandamus seeks to compel Governor Ron DeSantis, and Attorney General Ashley Moody, to prohibit the distribution of Covid 19 injections in the State of Florida, as well as conduct a forensic analysis of the content of the vials.

I had a sense of urgency to file in early March because we are going to war. Through no fault of our own, war was declared on us in late 2019. We are launching this year’s military campaign and going on the offensive.

Years ago, a friend of mine with military training was discussing weapons of opportunity with me. For example, he explained how if used properly, a bottle cap could be used to gauge someone’s eyes out. It was one of those simple conversations that had a lasting impact. Of course, the concept could be applied broadly outside of mere physical altercations. Theodore Roosevelt summed it up with this quote, “Do what you can, with what you have, when you have it.” (No, I am not endorsing his interventionist foreign policy)
