West Faces “Ukraine Can No Longer Win” Reality On Second Anniversary Of World War III

A thought-provoking new Security Council (SC) report circulating in the Kremlin today first noting Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Vassily Nebenzia proclaiming to the United Nations on the occasion of the second anniversary of the “Special De-Nazification Operation” launched on 24 February 2022: “In reality, there is no such thing as temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine...They are Russian regions”, says he then most factually observed: “Russia did not start this war...Russia came to finally stop it...All Kiev had to do was to respect the rights of the people and allow them to live peacefully, receive education in their native language and have the freedom of religion and the freedom of thought”.

Earlier today, this report notes, Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu inspected the Center Group of troops which recently drove Ukrainian forces out of the strategic Donbass city of Avdeevka—an inspection joined by the Ministry of Defense (MoD) announcing: “The Ukrainian armed forces have suffered losses of up to 1,195 troops and six tanks in the South Donetsk area over the past week” and also revealing: “During the week, Russian aviation and air defense systems shot down a MiG-29 fighter jet, a Mi-8 helicopter of the Ukrainian Air Force, seven Storm Shadow cruise missiles, a Patriot anti-aircraft guided missile, four S anti-aircraft guided missiles converted to hit ground targets -200, three HARM anti-radar missiles, six JDAM guided bombs and 42 HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, as well as 652 unmanned aerial vehicles," the statement said....In total, since the beginning of the special operation, 572 Ukrainian military aircraft, 267 helicopters, 13,223 unmanned aerial vehicles, 473 anti-aircraft missile systems, 15,188 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,223 combat vehicles of multiple launch rocket systems, 8,145 field artillery pieces and mortars, as well as 18,981 a unit of special military vehicle equipment”.

The foremost military expert advisor to the Kremlin, this report continues, is Doctor of Military Sciences Vice President Konstantin Sivkov of the Russian Academy of Missile and Artillery Sciences for Information Policy (RARAN), whom President Putin tasked with assessing the special military operation upon its launch on 24 February 2022—an assessment Vice President Sivkov provided to President Putin a little over a month latter,on 28 March 2022, wherein he assessed World War III had begun and gravely observed: “Russia is currently at war with the united West...This is a war of a different nature than those that took place in the 20th century...It cannot be declared, because in essence it is a classic hybrid one, from the side of the West...Ukraine is just the beginning...The geopolitical consequences of the special operation will change the entire view of the world...Regardless of the outcome of the confrontation between the Western coalition and Russia, there will be a radical reshaping of the system of regional relations, and even the geopolitical picture of the world, which is also a sign of war, and a large-scale war at that”--a grave observation Vice President Sivkov joined with his just released assessment:

The goals of the Ukrainian army’s offensive in the summer of 2023 and the size of combat groups formed to carry it out are to a certain extent comparable with what the German military fielded for its Operation Citadel in 1943.

This gives us the grounds for calling Kiev’s offensive in the summer of 2023 Operation Citadel 2.0.

Considering its military-political consequences, the collapse of Citadel 2.0 meant not simply the Ukrainian army’s military-strategic defeat but also the collapse of the consolidated West’s hybrid blitzkrieg.

We can state boldly that the so-called counteroffensive attempted by the Ukrainian military in the summer of 2023 was an event against whose background all the other developments could hardly attract so much attention.

This is not surprising because this counteroffensive was of key significance in the standoff between the West and Russia as its outcome largely shaped not only the situation in the special military operation area, Russia and Ukraine, but also trends of the changing global situation.

Concurring with Vice President Sivkov that the tactics used by Ukraine are comparable to those of the defeated German Nazi Regime during World War II, this report details, is world-renowned American defense expert Michael Peck, who just observed: “In 1943, as the tide of war turned against the Third Reich, the German high command opted for a desperate strategy on the Eastern Front...Outnumbered and outgunned by the Red Army, the Germans pinned their hopes on a mobile, aggressive defense to stop a relentless series of Soviet offensives in Ukraine and southern Russia...As today’s Ukraine fights over many of the same battlefields of 1943, it has chosen a strategy that echoes the German approach from 80 years ago”—as the tide of war turned against him, German Nazi leader Adolph Hitler became delusional before shooting himself in the head—and is a state of delusion exhibited by top Ukrainian lawmaker Aleksey Goncharenko, who yesterday declared war on Iran, North Korea and China with his lunatic proclamation: “Ukrainians are ready...We are ready to stand with the United States shoulder-to-shoulder, either in trenches near Tehran, or in North Korea, or near Beijing...No difference...Because we appreciate your support”.

Along with the news: “A joint EU statement denouncing Moscow and promising “unwavering” support for Kiev was blocked by Hungary on Friday”, this report notes, the leftist Washington Post assessed today: “Two years after President Biden spoke of dealing the Russian economy “a crushing blow” following the invasion of Ukraine, Russia this year is expected to grow faster than the United States, Germany, France or the United Kingdom...Fresh U.S. sanctions announced Friday are unlikely to change that reality”—an observation quickly joined by the leftist New York Times observing: “Hard lessons make for hard choices 2 years into the war in Ukraine...Western sanctions haven’t worked...Weapons from allies are running low...Pressure may build on Kyiv to seek a settlement, even from a weakened position”.

After showing up unannounced in Kiev yesterday, this report continues, it saw warmongering neocon socialist Democrat Party leader United States Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer revealing: “Everyone we saw, from Zelensky on down, made this very point clear: If Ukraine gets the aid, they will win the war and beat Russia...But if they don’t get the aid, they will surely lose the war”—a revelation that came at the same time top antiwar conservative Republican Party lawmaker United States Senator J.D. Vance warned the American peoples: “We have expended decades worth of supplies of American weapons on the Ukraine conflict...Because of the destruction of the American manufacturing base over the years, we don’t make enough of that stuff on our own...Yet at the same time they want us to send all of our critical weapons overseas...We now no longer have the weapons in store to actually prosecute our own national security”.

With the Defense Innovation Board (DIB), established in 2016 under the Federal Advisory Committee Act, providing independent recommendations to the United States Secretary of Defense and other senior Department of Defense leaders, this report concludes, its top research analyst retired United States Army Colonel Joe Buccino just released his open letter “Ukraine Can No Longer Win”, wherein he revealed to the American peoples what their senior Department of Defense leaders already know:

As the second anniversary of Russia’s invasion nears, and the latest aid package for Ukraine stalls in Congress, we must be clear-eyed about the future.

There is no path for Ukraine to win this war. American support will not change this reality.

Today, the situation is grim. The fighting has slowed to a cruel slog that works to Russia’s favor. Ukraine runs low on troops and munitions, while Russia maintains both in plenty.

The long-planned, high-risk, months-long Ukrainian spring 2023 counteroffensive failed, with Ukraine unable to regain territory seized by Russia. Support for Zelensky in Ukraine and the West has finally slipped. American aid is logjammed in Congress, and the U.S. seems tired of funding the war.

It is clear that even if the House approves the current proposed aid package, the flow of weapons is coming to a close. Without a continuing stream of those weapons, Ukraine will ultimately fall.

In considering an aid package to Ukraine, Washington policymakers and their constituents must assess how long the cash and weapons will continue to flow and toward what end.

Getting to a favorable or at least even negotiated settlement will take more than a year of fighting.

Putin has no incentive to stop fighting and every incentive to continue pushing and waiting for his adversaries to run out of troops and munitions, and for policymakers in the U.S. to run out of patience.

None of this is fair to the people of Ukraine, who have placed their hopes of sovereignty on America’s commitment to them.

It is, however, the tragic reality of the situation.
