I like the music of this song, but the lyrics are quite depressing. In some cases these lyrics are prophetic for relationships. But what is a person going to do?

You can't force someone to love you forever. And, you can't make yourself love someone either. Where there is no true love the magic is gone. True love must be reciprocated from both people, not just by one.

The big question is, is love forever? Or does it have an expiration date for some? Does love last an indefinite amount of time, then fades away like a vapor?

Songs like this seem to intimate that if you have no love for a person, but they love you - then go ahead and spend time with them for a while and then move on later at a time of your choosing.

That is about as pessimistic and antithetical as it gets. It is not how we were raised to think of love and enduring together forever.
But which side is correct and realistic? Was the love generation and "anything goes" time of the '60s leading the nation into the destruction of the family unit? Was it a psyop to condition our minds and change our lifestyles to accept one world communism? Are we being trained to set aside "love" and just do what feels good for the moment? Are we being brainwashed to forget about children and the family unit and place all our loyalty towards a super state government?

It makes a person wonder exactly what is going on. We now have the ability to look back on the past 60 years and see what as taken place.

Or, are we being programmed to accept animal intincts as a god and push away the wholesome family values we used to be taught?
IMO, love is not selfish, love is the ability to care for others and is proven through committment, not by fleeting whims.

How did these concepts and ideals change? It is simple really, the woman's liberation movement was the poison to destroy the family unit. And those liberation movements were pushed by socialists and communists. And once the family unit was destroyed, so goes the nation - and it is the end of nationalism and patriotism for old fashioned love of liberty. The end result is chaos and the reigns of power being placed in the hands of the wealthy elite manipulators that rule by wars. And, wars and hate of an enemy is the opposite of love.

Now we see the result of "living in the sunshine, then go your own way". It is the death of love, it creates wars, destruction and crying children. The hypnotic Pied Piper of deception ends up destroying nations and killing families. But hey, look on the bright side, at least the music was catchy and the beat of the drum helped in the march towards our doom. GE
