The Russian Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya noted that the ongoing Palestinian problem is from the West not being interested in protecting their interests, because it considers them as second-class people.

"During these weeks, an extremely unpleasant fact has become clear: the Palestinians are a second-class people for the West, which is simply not interested in protecting their interests. This is the main reason for the problems the Council faces in making decisions," said the Russian diplomat in a meeting with the UN Security Council regarding the situation in the Middle East.
