Re FLASHBACK: Rush Limbaugh Uncovers the TRUE ....

This country was heading in a good direction in the 1960's and 1970's. The country was getting more tolerant, less racist, and a more fair capitalism. The conversation was civil and there was no war between liberals and conservatives. Things start to change when talk radio (mostly right wing) came on the air in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Rush Limbaugh became the king of the talk radio hosts. He mocked everything liberal. He does not use racist language but many say he used coded racist language (such as "welfare queen" ). In any case he unleashed harsh language usuage by all parties. But his main legacy was the push for unregulated capitalism. His influence was enormous with the result that by 1990 the average salary of a corporate CEO was around 200 times the salary of the average worker. The chemical and food industries got huge profits, often at the expense of human health and environmental health (examples are high fructose corn syrup used in all soft drinks and Round Up which is found in all water bodies). There is no talk host on the liberal side that is even 1/100 as influential as Rush. Enough to say that Rush claims that global warming is a scam to tax rich white nations. One contradiction is that Rush like the low cost production from China and the low cost laborers from Mexico, but his listeners don't particularly like Chinese people or Mexican people. In the end Rush won the war and this country has been promoting conservative economic policies for the last 40 years with the resultant that the corporations are hugely profitable but the majority of the people are poor, sick and fat. The government giving out little morsels to students (canceling their student loans), food stamps, rent subsidies, and health care subsidies so that the populous don't revolt!!! But these little bits of catering to the left is called being "Woke", and being "socialist". So silly when the country has already been robbed blind by big corporations!!!
