Developing a drug to target and destroy Lyme disease pathogen

Bay Area Lyme Foundation has announced the development of a potential new drug, HS-291, that targets and destroys Borrelia burgdorferi, the bacterium that causes Lyme disease.

Published in the peer-reviewed journal Cell Chemical Biology, this laboratory study represents a paradigm shift for anti-microbial treatment research.

It is the first study to target and inhibit Borrelia burgdorferi HtpG (high temperature protein G), a specific type of enzyme within the bacteria that causes Lyme disease— a condition affecting nearly 500,000 new patients annually.

The research was conducted at Duke University School of Medicine, with collaboration from University of North Carolina, Tulane University, and Stanford University, and HS-291 is currently in preclinical stage testing at UC Davis.

Dear RM Agents and Readers,

I'm thinking I read an aritcle on microbial agents that was a bit negative in regards to COVID 19. I'm thinking the Universities involved may have other stuff over shadowing, so to speak.

I'm thinking who better than Dr. Spector to place the kindest, most gentile persona on the study and findings, a bit like 'pope francis, the usurper.

Just don't trust it yet, I'm still thinking....
