I try a lot of remedies... Cultures. Vitamins. Minerals. Foods.
This one has really made a huge difference in my sleep. I would go to sleep ok, but wake up at 2 AM or 4 AM. I even read the Chinese body clock. 2 AM means liver. I detoxed my liver. Along with working on other issues. Took melatonin which ended up giving me nightmares. I would wake up at 7 am even if I had not gotten enough sleep and could never catch up.
This starter yogurt has made a wonderful difference almost from the first days of taking it. I sleep soundly, I can sleep in a little (till 9 am) on weekends if I wish. I am dreaming again. If I wake up, it isn't too hard to get back to sleep. It is literally amazing. On the website it says this is one of the most profound differences that they hear about.
Hoping it can help you as well. A bit of a learning curve. Just getting it to set right is tricky. However even though mine separated (and still does because I use home raised goats milk) it doesn't matter. It still contains the good pro-biotics and they are doing their jobs wonderfully!

(Ps...I don't make any money off this product. I just randomly tried it because I was so tired of not sleeping right.)

Sleeping is fundamental to our well-being and health. What’s going on in your gut greatly influences how and when you sleep. Your gut has over thirty types of neurotransmitters (like the ones found in your brain). The gut also contains 100 million neurons, which is higher than the amount found in our spinal cord! And those transmitters that have brain-like properties make up at least 95% of our serotonin - an important neurotransmitter for sleep and cognitive function. Serotonin does many things for you throughout the day. They call it the "joy hormone" and many antidepressant drugs target serotonin. But serotonin also controls your body clock and sleep cycles. The body's ability to make serotonin depends on many things such as the types of microbes in our gut, the foods we eat, and how much natural light and exercise we get.
Melatonin is a hormone that helps us feel sleepy at night. It was thought that only the pineal gland made melatonin, but they have also found that the gut produces 400 times more melatonin than the pineal gland. Even if the pineal gland is removed, melatonin stays stable. And they have recently found that low levels of melatonin have been linked to leaky gut and IBS. So much happens in the gut that we are unaware of, and taking care of what you put in the gut changes not only your waking hours but your sleeping hours too.
L. Reuteri for Deep Sleep
Of all the cultures I've used, L. reuteri is the one that I get the most emails about that is helping with sleep. Personally, my family and I have all noticed a huge difference in our sleep. We all sleep like logs now and it is one of the many reasons my whole family is eating so much of the superfood L. reuteri. It is fabulous for sleep, but it takes a little while to get going. We found that after a month or two of consuming one-half cup a day the benefits really kick in.
Dr. Davis, who was the one who originally came up with turning L. reuteri into a fermented dairy, stated, "With L. reuteri yogurt, I now sleep 9 hours every night, experience vivid dreams, and need none of these other sleep crutches to enjoy a deep and restful night of sleep. I believe that this is one effect we get with L. reuteri from the boost in oxytocin it triggers. So I believe that I am able to gauge when a strain of L. reuteri works or not since L. reuteri increases oxytocin which thus helps to improve deep sleep."
