DR. JOHN: AVOIDING THE EXCRUCIATING PAIN OF GOUT
Remember the doctors office asking you what your pain level is from 1 to 10. Well Gout runs right around 20 on the worst day. You can't even place a sheet on your feet. Your pain filled, swollen feet won't go in shoes and even the largest house slippers are massive incentives for pain. You can manage to walk 10 feet to the bathroom and you make that trip as infrequent as possible.
BUY WAIT THERE IS GOOD NEWS. When the Gout gets bad enough; the medical field will do surgery laying wide open the inside of your swollen and inflamed foot; so that they can scrap, grind, pry and ply the uric acid crystals out of your joints. Of course you will be in pain from all of that for months. That is the best conventional medicine has to offer. The Gout is not always in the foot, it can be in any joint, but the pain and treatment is the same and the main theme is PAIN! By the way you will be back for surgery every 5 years! YEAH???

First, THIS IS another case of a disease THAT is not a disease! Gout is a sign of a CHEMICAL IMBALANCE. Where conventional medicine and online hucksters will try to convince you that a special product and carefully designed diet will cure you for $59.99 per month plus shipping and handling; are the one and ONLY cure. These "well intentioned folks" will tell you that too much meat, too much fat, too much sugar, too much rich food, and too much alcohol are the root of your problems. If you get better you stop buying their product or surgery. They don't want you healthy, they want your money. So you won't get better.
LOGIC
Out of all these. alcohol is a potential culprit along with coffee and tea, since these drinks will dehydrate you beyond the beverage consumed. Not drinking enough water is how you got Gout! In the days long past Kings, and Princes would drink nothing but wine because the waters were, well nasty (up stream sewage). And you can see paintings of these royalty with their foot propped up with Gout. They were drinking the wrong fluids, but the blame was placed on all the rich food. It was seen as a rich man's disease. But we all know what happened.
NOT ENOUGH WATER!
Your muscles, all muscles like the heart, lungs, diaphragm, back, legs, arms, feet excrete uric acid from muscle use; as a waste product into the blood stream, where it is carried to your kidneys. The more you use those muscles the more uric acid you create. Your kidneys in turn filter out the uric acid sending it on to the bladder. You eliminate the uric acid on your next visit to the bathroom. PERFECT!
But if you do not drink enough WATER you will dehydrate. The body will take fluids from just about anywhere to replace fluids lost in sweat glands, including Red blood cells. Now as the Red blood cells lose fluids your blood pressure goes up as the heart tries to pump the thicker blood. This actually slows the circulation of the blood down and the ability of the blood to deal with the uric acid. Being a smart body it knows the kidneys can only deal with small amounts of uric acid each day and diverts the uric acid to long term storage in your joints in the compressed from of uric acid crystals... like thousands of shards of glass! Its a not so mild wake up call drink water PLEASE!
Because their is an abundance of uric acid in your body the conversion of the crystals back to uric acid is not likely. Especially, if you are still not hydrating properly.
TO AVOID GOUT hydrate properly, especially if you are excreting fluids at an abnormal rate. Take in some salt as well, your body fluids contains trace amounts of salt and need it along with other electrolytes.
TO CURE GOUT eat 8 cherries (fresh or frozen) a day. A flavanoid in them will convert the crystals back to uric acid. Remember the kidneys can only remove so much uric acid a day. This is why it will take a little time to improve, but improve you will. To help the process add a pinch of baking soda to a pitcher of water to drink throughout the day. Fruits like watermelon, berries, cucumber and tomato are full of water. Soups as well are a source of fluids. You should be consuming about 2.5 quarts of water a day or the equivalent. Don't wash your food down at meals with too much water, but ensure you have fluids in your stomach to help digest the foods.
It may take a few months, but each month will show improvements, less swelling, less pain and greater endurance. The worse your Gout became, the longer the healing process. After you are better, if you notice any symptoms of Gout eat 8 cherries and in less than 24 hours you are all better. But that is a warning to reevaluate your hydration. Is it matching weather conditions and your exertion levels? Are you consuming fluids that dehydrate you?
If you have diarrhea take 8 to 10 Black berries to stop it naturally (45 minutes). Diarrhea is not a bad thing, your body is expelling bad foods or bacteria potentially, let it do its thing, but only for a couple of hours and then stop it. That is another form of dehydration if it goes on too long. But it is another way your body taking care of you.
Another case of a disease, like Gout, simply being a chemical imbalance that our behavior caused. I figured out a long time ago living to old age is not a good thing; if you are riddled with severe pain. In good health it can be the best years of your life. So I focus on my health and try not to abuse my body's delicate balance any more than necessary. Being healthy also means being active, that is how you flush toxins from your joints and muscles.
