JFK really understood that. No wonder the war hawks of his day went after him. He was going to stop the constant war mongering. He didn’t seem to see any reason why America should sit at the top of the heap, telling the rest of the world what they should do. Why should any one country have the power to control all of the other countries. Would we tolerate that? I doubt it.

I never understood why other countries would sign onto the Bretton Woods agreement (which morphed into the petro dollar after we went off of the gold standard in 1971.), say Germany wanted to buy oil from Saudi Arabia. They have to make that transaction in U.S. dollars when we weren’t even a part of the sale. That sounds like a mafia goon telling a store owner he’ll protect that store for a set amount of money every month. That store wouldn’t be in jeopardy in the first place if they weren’t being threatened by the goon.

I guess I would be called a nationalist. Not because I think the U.S. should be calling the shots. But, because I believe each country should be sovereign and of equal standing. That doesn’t mean equal like the Marxist/socialists try to tell people. Which winds up with people in poverty and tyranny at the hands of someone meaner and bigger. We need to be equal in respect, friendship, true humanitarian assistance when necessary. Then back the hell out of the country. Kind of like Hungary has done with Lahaina. They're flying in housing that can be set up. A gift, freely given, no strings, but just because the Lahaina people need the help that their own government is not providing.

How many military bases do we have around the world? How many do Russia and China have? Yet, we are expected to believe that both countries are foaming at the mouth to invade and take us over. It’s possible, but I just don’t see that. We have got to stop comparing the Russia of today with Hitler’s Germany or Stalin’s USSR. I have never heard of a dictator that was truly loved by his people. They might pretend if they are fearful enough. But it seems to me that Putin has never been as popular as he is right now. I’m sure there are Russians who don’t like him. And, I am quite sure that he doesn’t walk on water, unless it’s frozen. But Russia has had far worse leaders in their past.

As for Xi, I would say he has enough problems at home without borrowing more trouble. With a billion plus people to lead, he needs to make sure he provides employment opportunities, food and other resources, I seriously doubt if he is planning on invading us. Yes, I know some sites are just sure that he is. And, they may be right. I just don’t see what he has to gain. This country would not be any kind of a pushover for him to take control of. Even though he could stand to lose a lot of military forces in the attempt, why? He surely knows, just as Admiral Yamamoto did, that there is a gun behind every blade of grass. While our alphabet agencies were busy keeping us afraid of other countries motives, we would have been far better off questioning their motives.

A good and more timely example would be a “former CIA” who was asked if he thought the Lahaina fires were intentionally set or just bad leadership in various departments. He said just bad leadership. And, he said it with a straight face too. I about fell out of my computer chair laughing. I have some sad news for him. These agencies might hold themselves in high esteem, but they are about the only ones who do. First of all, I don’t believe you ever “retire” from the CIA. My reasoning is a former classmate we are pretty sure went in to the CIA. During a classmate search for one of our reunions, a former deputy sheriff, now a private detective located her and sent an invitation. She fired back at him demanding to know how he found her. No one was supposed to know where she was. So, I figured Witness Protection or CIA.

Anyway, anyone who has followed the Lahaina story and has half of a brain cell knows better. A tropical island where it normally rains part of every day is in a drought? Not a natural one. Houses, cars, shirts, umbrellas that are blue, spared. Just like a laser does? Children sent home early from school, but very few children’s bodies found in the ruins? The school buses finally located, but they aren’t burned? Where are the children then? Water turned off so local people couldn’t fight the fires?
People blocked from leaving the area. Told to shelter in place? Seriously? Even the Libtards running these things aren’t that stupid. This was deliberate, Mr. G-Man. But, thanks for your opinion.

This is exactly the kind of arrogance that has led us to this sad state we find ourselves in as a country. It is what happens when unelected people call the shots from behind the scenes. I recognized that a long time ago. Presidents, VPs and Congress are elected. They have to at least keep some of their campaign promises or risk not being reelected. The president can appoint the head of the snake but he doesn’t clean out the snake pit by that appointment. Most directors are chosen from within the ranks of the top echelon. The FBI and the Joint Chiefs are about the same. So, if a president doesn’t like what one director does, he appoints another and gets about the same results. My question is, even if he appoints someone he can trust, will the people under the new director change their behavior or just wait it out until the new president takes office and hope that the next one is more malleable to their agenda?

RFK says he will make changes in the organization. He should be more careful. That attitude is one of the reasons his uncle, and maybe his father, was killed. RFK just lost my vote anyway as I heard him say that he would respect the second amendment unless Congress sent him a bill otherwise. And he would sign it. That is the wrong answer sir. Or have you never heard of the veto power? Yes, Congress can over ride your veto. But that will put the blame squarely on the Congress critters who signed the bill. Your job is to uphold the Constitution.

So, the American people believe these organizations are in place to protect them. Then why are they spying on citizens, recording our conversations, reading our emails and texts? Why are they treating us like criminals while some of the Border Patrol are opening the gate and motioning the illegals in? Kind of like the Capital police on January 6th. Thousands of possible terrorists coming over our border with Mexico every day.

I’m sure some of the people working for these agencies are good, patriotic people. No doubt some who do nefarious things have convinced themselves its for the greater good. But is it? There was a book called “The Ugly American” back in the sixties. It opened my eyes to the fact that we weren’t the world’s saviors and benefactors. That is how the UN was sold to us when I was in school. The U.S. just goes into other countries to help those less fortunate. Right! And I have some river bottom land for sale.

Whoever wins the presidency in 2024-if we even have an election-can figure out how to reign in some of the power of unelected bureaucrats and military brass. We will have our hands full defending our home turf. But, however they do it, I hope one day, we can just be a part of the nations of the world, respecting each other’s sovereignty.
