An RMN reader, replying to my ‘dream team’ for Trump article I wrote, said he agreed with everything except where Vivek Ramaswamy was concerned. They said he was a member of the WEF or World Economic Forum, headed by Klaus Schwab. I decided to look a little closer. I usually do a fair amount of research before writing anything. Why didn’t I know about this? What do we know about this new shining star? He blew onto the scene relatively quickly. And he has talked about himself on various interviews. So, is there anything we don’t know that we should?
He is a first generation American, having been born in Ohio from parents who immigrated to America from India. He is Hindu, though he says he embraces Christian values. He is a billionaire, having made a fortune in a biotech company he founded.
For those who wonder, he is a Leo. Vivek is very intelligent and an articulate speaker. Hmm, de je vu? I just described Obama. Vivek went to a high school affiliated with the Jesuit order. He is married and has two children. His wife is a doctor. (I wonder what her position is on the clot shots? She will influence him.) He is a vegetarian. He is pro-life, doesn’t think the 2020 election was stolen. He would legalize marijuana. (That will buy him more than a few votes!) He says he would require an ID to vote. He also says, if elected president, he would make the voting age 25, with some caveats. He would allow younger people to vote if they served in the military or domestically, as a policeman, EMT or fireman.
In some interviews he has said he would pardon Julian Assange on the first day as well as Edward Snowden. Now he says he will consider pardoning Snowden. (One of the alphabet agencies get to him?) At first he was a supporter of Taiwan independence. But now he says China could invade Taiwan without major consequences from the US. That’s quite a flip flop from his former stance. But, he would like to put a gun in every Taiwanese household as a deterrent to Chinese invasion. (I was not aware that we set the rules for Taiwan on gun ownership.)
Most concerning to me is that, he is a graduate of Paul and Daisy Soros’ Fellowship for a New America. He paid an editor to alter his Wikipedia page to appear more favorable to political conservatives before announcing his run for president. And then, denied doing so. As for the WEF, I couldn’t find anything that said he had ever attended. Just that the WEF had invited Mr. Ramaswamy to be a potential member of the YGL (Young Global Leader) community. However, an individual does not formally become a member of the YGL community until they accept a nomination, a WEF Spokesperson said, “Mr. Ramaswamy declined to be nominated and was therefore never an active member of the YGL community.” So, was Vivek a member of the WEF or not? And, if he wasn’t, why was he invited to be a potential member of the YGL?
My personal assessment is, in spite of his charm and silver tongue, I still have some reservations, which is why I thought the position of advisor to the president would be less likely to cause problems. We’ve already had a good-looking, smooth talking person the White House. It will take us many years to eradicate his radical communist ideas. I would still love to see a Trump/Kennedy ticket. But, barring that, Kennedy appointed as Trump’s AG, a position his father held. Ramaswamy has even less political experience than Obama had. But both blew onto the scene like an Oklahoma tornado. I think until we see more of how Mr. Ramaswamy conducts himself, it would be wise to shelve him until 2028 or 2032.
To be fair to Mr. Ramaswamy, I will list his promises and beliefs if elected: God is real; There are two genders; Human flourishing requires fossil fuels; Reverse racism is racism; An open border is no border; Parents determine the education of their children; The nuclear family is the greatest form of governance known to mankind; Capitalism lifts people up from poverty; There are three branches of government, not four; The U.S. Constitution is the strongest guarantor of freedom in history.
I will be supporting Trump, even though there are things about him I am unhappy about. Like the clot-shots for instance. I have two reasons for doing so. I don’t see anyone else on the Republican side with the balls to take on the Deep State. And, no one on the Democratic side who has a chance of winning a crooked nomination. Secondly, if Trump were really part of the Deep State, would they be going after him so hard and nonstop since 2015?
As for Mr. Ramaswamy, I think he will have to earn the right to run for president with any hope of being viable. As for the flip flopping, I have always said for years, that in order to become a politician, you needed the ability to talk out of both sides of your mouth. So, he’s part way there!
