Government Ministers want to drag us out of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR).

The Convention protects the basic human rights of everyone in the UK. All the rights and freedoms we're familiar with come from it. It is vital that we defend it.

This fight is winnable. Recent polling from More in Common has shown that less than a quarter of the public (23%) think Britain should leave the ECHR – and more than double that (49% of people) want to stay within the Convention.

However, the polling also revealed that a further 23% of people don't know whether Britain should stay signed up to the ECHR. They're undecided, and it's up to all of us to make sure they know how the ECHR protects us all and continues to make the UK a better place.

Politicians are trying to divide us by scapegoating sections of society in an attempt to justify weakening our rights and freedoms.

We will not be divided. Either everyone has human rights, or no one does.

The only people who benefit from dragging the UK out of the Convention are those in power. Leaving the ECHR would put us all at risk and we would lose our ability to hold the Government to account for its actions.
