One of the readers at Epoch Times stated, “Ron, quit now before you embarrass yourself and lose all credibility to even be governor.” I would only add, before you embarrass yourself by showing your true colors. Trump sees you for what you are and so do many conservatives who might have supported you in 2028. Not now.
Many of us watched this governor doing things, mostly right during the COVID manufactured pandemic. In turn, many people fleeing Democratic ruined California relocated to Florida. Somewhere along the way, DeSantas allowed supporters to convince him that he was ready for Prime Time. Not really. I was considering supporting him for a 2028 run where, if he continued making solid conservative decisions for his state, he would be ready for the national stage.
Ego is a funny thing. It somehow manages to filter out any negativity and magnifies any positive remarks. In his case, that is too bad. In his haste to rise to the top of the heap, he forgot two important facts. The popularity of a man who took on the Deep State and while making some very human mistakes, still managed to show our nation what the right man at the helm can accomplish. Trump’s rally's show his continued popularity. Conservative politicians would do well to, in this case, follow the herd. This was not the time for DeSantas to throw his hat in the ring and try to beat the most popular president in recent history.
Yes, even factoring in Obama’s presidency which, following one of his historical mentors, he managed to still squeak in a second term. What do I mean by historical mentors? I would say, having watched his promises, which were lies. Deliberate lies, not just promises he was unable to keep. He followed Lenin’s dictates to the letter.
Lenin said, “Be what the people want and are looking for.” We had never had a black man or even a half black man as president before. Nearly every black person in America was entranced by this good looking, articulate man. A good number of whites, myself included, were lulled to sleep by the giant step for our country with it’s history of slavery, Jim Crow and racially violent civil rights clashes, mostly down south, but elsewhere too. Yet, even with that strong history giving him a stiff wind to his back, he still followed Lenin’s advice. “Do whatever you have to do to win. Say whatever you have to say to win. Winning is the important thing. Once you have won, then you can betray the people.”
Campaign rhetoric, Rahm Emmanuel? That is just a fancy way to say lies. But, back to DeSantas. How do I know he isn’t what we need in the top job? That was his second mistake. Showing his true colors too soon. Because if he would betray the man who secured his winning the governor’s race in Florida, he wouldn’t think twice about betraying us. We aren’t that important to him. That is the difference between him and Donald Trump. Like the man or not, Trump did a remarkable number of things in his first term and his love for America was his driving force. He already had all he needed to feed his ego, money, fame, a beautiful wife, a fantastic family. And let’s not forget all those golf courses and hotels all over the world.
When history looks at DeSantas, if it bothers to, what will it see? A man who was a good governor for the most part, who let people convince him he could beat a man like Trump or a man with the aura of the Kennedy name and a pretty impressive record of fighting elements of the Deep State himself. They will see a man whose ambition clouded his judgment. Unfortunately, he was able to draw a few others away from supporting Trump who should have known better. Kim Reynolds, governor of Iowa is another politician whose endorsement by Trump secured her win. Her switching to DeSantas makes me suspicious that he's promised her the VP slot. These politicians have really short memories. But Donald Trump does not. It will be interesting to see just how much damage this has done to her future career in politics. I also learned today that a state senator had withdrawn his support for Trump because his fiance is friends with Kim Reynolds. Am I missing something here? He has switched to DeSantas because his fiance is friends with Reynolds and, what he can’t think for himself? There is a term we used to use for men like that when I was growing up. It is a slang word for cat! If the shoe fits.
Anyway, it is early days yet since the 2024 campaign season just officially started in Iowa. It is going to be an interesting year and a half. My money is still on Trump, in spite of the Deep State’s attempts to hamstring him. I don’t think it’s going to work. I can’t wait to see who he picks for VP. I am hoping Tim Scott or Vivek Ramaswamy. Trump is going to have to decide and declare soon as it will be time to put out signs, bumper stickers and buttons. I would still love to see a Trump/Kennedy Independent ticket. I don’t think either party deserves either of these men. But, after all, that is how our presidential elections started out. Whoever got the most votes was president. Whoever got the next amount was vice president. Wouldn’t it be great to see both parties have to work together for the American people for once
