I just got back from seeing the movie, and it was not as good as I had hoped. It was a poor documentary of Oppenheimer’s life in colleges, then during and after WW2 – and they jumped around in time lines of his life, making it very confusing to follow. It was boring, 3 hours long, and had only about 15 minutes of interesting footage.

I was hoping it would have spent more time on the dropping of the bomb, but they completely glossed over that part and instead talked about communist agents, and possible traitors for the Soviet Union. There was a totally unnecessary sex scene which was a waste of time.

They tried to portray the scientist as a humble and quiet man, but he came across as having no personality and nearly autistic and emotionless. It was basically shown as a regretful event, peacenik movie, and not a good one at that, and it had no clear direction to go in the plot. They didn’t show the bombing of Japan, or the aftermath, they left it to the viewers imagination. Honestly wish I wouldn’t have gone to see it, it was a waste of my time.

It brought out boring, in-depth personal details of his life, which gave me little sympathy for him or appreciation for his creativity.
I saw real videos of him describing how people reacted to the first atomic explosion, and that was truly interesting. But that was totally left out of the movie! He said that some people were stunned into silence, some cried, and some people laughed as they saw the power of the bomb. But in the movie, they were all shouting in excitement and doing high fives.

In hindsight, once the US created the bomb, they should have defeated communism to prevent them from developing the bomb to be used against the rest of the world.

But the truth of the matter is, there were elements inside the US government and in Nato nations that were in cahoots with the communists in both Russia and China, and they wanted them to have the bomb. It was that traitorous and duplicitous behavior that fueled the cold war, and now has us looking down the barrel of gun of the next world war. The condition we find ourselves in, is not an accident, it was planned this way.

Once Pandora’s box was opened and the wealthy elite rulers allowed the communists to build their own nukes, it was then imperative that we build more nukes and more powerful bombs, or we would have already been defeated and taken over by now. This also helped the military industrial complex to make more profits.

Ideally all nukes should be dismantled someday, and perhaps a few kept in reserve to destroy incoming asteroids or unknown attacks in the future. However, now that they do exist, unfortunately they will be used as a terror weapon to keep the masses in line and facilitate a massive depopulation program. George Eaton
