I homeschooled my daughter for a year. Through economic necessity, she had to go back into mainstream school. The school wasn't sure what to do with her. She was five years (yes, 5 years) ahead in math skills, four years ahead in language - reading skills, Four in sciences (all kinds) and three years ahead in Social Studies which included our legislative process. She also learned music (piano) swimming, tumbling and so much more. We did grow our own veggies, as well. I highly recommend it :-)

She wasn't named Labtest, she was named Dana. It wasn't until some years later that my higher self lead me to the Tuatha Dé Danann people of Ireland. Danu, also spelled D'Anu, or Dana, in Celtic religion, is the earth-mother goddess or female principle. My children are all half Irish.

If I were masochistic and rich enough (7-figure salary) to take on a child (by surrogate or adoption), I'd definitely have it homeschooled by private tutors. It would also be fed homegrown and organic foods, and have only adult company. No stupid tooth faery or Santa (etc) crap, and it would be taught history as close to reality that is available. No telly or MSM media in the house. Abode would be rural, and kinda isolated. It would be taught only practical stuff, with all kinds of musical instruments and art supplies available. Also, there would be a vast library of fact and fiction. It would have a very controlled life until 16. The thing would be named Labtest.
