Russian President Vladimir Putin stated a few days ago from the St. Petersburg Forum that it is possible to use nuclear weapons against the Ukrainians and those fighting on their side, if necessary, and in this context he referred to the Western effort in the past to try to limit Russia's nuclear arsenal through agreements:

Rarely does the Russian president resort to such expressions and this in itself demonstrates the gap that has been created between the West and Russia.

They made these efforts because, as he said, Russia has the largest nuclear arsenal on the planet and almost all Western countries combined.

It is the only thing that Westerners are afraid of in order not to attack Russia in total which of course could not face 50 countries at the same time in terms of conventional military forces.
