Dear Readers, on Memorial Day I requested that y'all send a letter by June 5 to protest the US Dept of Education's involvement in medical education. I didn't finalize my letter till today and I now print it below. The Dept of Ed did not widely advertise the opportunity to comment, so Secy Cardona may only get a few responses. Yours will count!

Your email can be voluminous, or as simple as "I oppose the renewal of the accreditation authority of the Committee for schools of Public Healtth." It can be addressed to Secretary Miguel Cardona, US Dept of Education and be emailed to: thirdpartycomments@ed.gov

Also please ask friends to join the effort. Sorry I'm asking so down-to-the wire. You have until 5pm this Monday. God help us all.

Dear Secretary Cardona,

I hereby reply before the June 5, 2023 deadline, regarding your invitation for public comment (per NACIQI). This refers to your proposed renewing of the authority of a federal entity known as "Council on Education for Public Health" within the United States Department of Education.

Dr Cardona, I apologize if this question is impertinent, but have you ever read section 8 of Article I of the US Constitution? You will find 18 clauses there, each laying out the grant of power that state delegates made to the national government in 1787. (Example: the power to coin money or raise an army).

"Education" makes no appearance in that original list of 18 subjects, and no amendment to that list has ever been ratified (or even suggested, as far as I know). Hence, the feds cannot have their hands in schools, or in teaching. It is forbidden. The principles of our nation's founding are sacred.

That said, I will, for the moment, ignore the fundamental restriction on your Department's activities. I now ask: What's this I hear about your accrediting some colleges? How can you think it is OK for you to do that? Do you have a staff of geniuses who would be able to know, what is good or bad in every academic field?

Let's say a Biology Department at "St Jane's College" was using a textbook on Larmarckist evolution instead of Darwinian. (Lamarck taught "inheritance of acquired characteristics," e.g., a giraffe got its long neck from ancestors stretching to feed on high trees.) I suppose some people would say "If St Jane's faculty is that silly, we should prevent kids from enrolling there."

I take it your censorship does have that effect. By cancelling the accreditation of a college, kids won't qualify for federal loans, draft deferments, or whatever. But in any scientific field this is anathema. Let the teachers who are spouting Lamarckism get laughed at. That should suffice. Or let a disgruntled student can set up a seminar in the dining hall and sales pitch Darwinism.

It is normal in science to let all sides have a say. My late husband was a medical professor. Every fortnight he went to the library to read The Lancet and the New England Journal of Medicine, being especially pleased if there was a head-on collision between the two.

I am the author of a 2013 book, "Consider the Lilies: A Review of 18 Cures for Cancer and Their Legal Status." By legal status I mean: Is the curer in jail? has he lost his medical license? All 18 doctors were dedicated scientists (I don't trifle with the amateur cures), yet the AMA lowered the boom on them.

Will your committee persons be taking the opinion of AMA as gospel? Do we not all realize that AMA guys are political minded? They're not at the cutting edge of intellectual work. What would the AMA advise you when you are about to grant, or withhold, a college's accreditation? Would they tell you that any textbook that mentions Ivermectin should be deep-sixed?

Have we not just had the tragedy of the century, related to the Pfizer vaccine? Please note, I was the appellant in Maxwell v Secretary of Defense et al, in 2020, regarding the horrendous breach of our Fourth Amendment rights, by way of "mandatory vax."

Has there ever been, in our free country, such a curtailment of independent thought? I see that there is a specific date falling this month, for you to renew the authority of the accreditating body that handles schools of Public Health. I register my absolute disapproval.

A mistake was made when the US Department of Education was established. Today it wants dis-establishing. The NACIQI wants early retirement. Please help our country, Dr Cardona. Think big. Stop the blood loss to our brains. Liberate the wonderful life of the mind so students will have a chance to get in on it. Stay your hand on that damned renewal of "authority."
