A new large M6.9 (M7.0 to M6.7) struck Ecuador South America as we were looking for -- a new upper 6 to low 7 to strike this region (as mentioned in my earthquake forecast for this week and 1 day ago in my seismic update).

We felt it on the 9th floor in Cuenca. A lot of noise and shaking. A photo fell forward on the cabinet. No damage.

Felt it strongly in the countryside south of Cuenca. The house was moving east to west, violently, the epicenter being due west of this area. Reminded me of the massive quake on the northern coast in April of 2016. I would imagine that Guayaquil will have a lot of damage, and it is the most populous city in Ecuador, with approximately 2 million there.

We felt it up in Portoviejo, Manabí, Ecuador. It was l-o-n-g, but a fairly gentle shaking the whole time. So thankful it was not worse!
