Ukrainian President Volodymyr #Zelensky: The top military leaders pledged to me to defend #Bakhmut
It’s being reported that President Zelensky today has ordered Commanders in Eastern Ukraine to hold Bakhmut and that additional Ukrainian Military Units have been observed being deployed in the direction of the City.
This seems to be a change in the Steady Withdrawal from Bakhmut that I and other Analysts have been hearing about from Sources on the Ground for the last few weeks, however I have no clue what could have warranted this change.
Interestingly, earlier today Zelensky’s Office released a statement that, “Commander-in-Chief Valery Zaluzhny and the Commander of Ukraine’s Ground Forces Oleksandr Syrsky agree that Ukraine should continue Defensive Positions in Bakhmut,” although this contradicts previous reports that Zaluzhny had supported a Full Withdrawal from Bakhmut but that Zelensky and Syrsky had disagreed with him.

This change of plan makes sense if they realized Russian offensive has ran out of steam earlier than they had estimated. Or maybe AFU pretended like they'd retreat to trick Wagner into making a costly push.

In the latest audio message released today, Prigozhin again declares he is not getting the necessary ammunition. Moreover, he adds that Ukraine is forming several strike groups in neighbouring Donbas cities to attempt to unblock Bakhmut.

I saw another post from one of the RF milbloggers telegrams that radio chatter indicated a Ukrainian offensive was being prepared, so one could argue that its a a way to pull RF forces towards Bakhmut. However an offensive with the current round conditions seems crazy. Prigozin (Russia) is crying about ammo and man power so maybe that’s why. Maybe Ukraine sees a way to break through Wagner
